This module introduces students to aspects of hospitality and tourism industry. It helps students to create the understanding of terminologies and the different types of products and services offered in the hospitality and tourism industry. It also helps them appreciate the status of hospitality and tourism as one of the world’s most important economic industries and projection of future trends. The module will also help students identify career opportunities and specialized services within the industry. The content will include: definitions, scope and overview of the industry; history and development; social economics and environmental impacts, global market; concepts of multiplier effects in tourism and hospitality industry at different levels.
