Tourism Product Development is a fundamental module that introduces students to the process of creating, designing, and managing tourism products and experiences that meet market needs while ensuring sustainability and competitiveness. The module explores the concept of a tourism product as a composite experience consisting of attractions, accessibility, amenities, activities, and ancillary services.

Students will learn how to identify potential tourism resources, develop them into viable products, and package them for specific target markets. Emphasis is placed on innovation, community participation, and sustainable development practices in the tourism sector. Case studies from Rwanda and other destinations are used to provide practical insights into product development strategies.

This module will introduce students to the systems and procedures required for Front Office Operations and emphasize on the importance of high standards in personal qualities and the provision of customer service. Students will develop knowledge and skills in reception procedures as well as understanding the key legislation that relates to reception operations.
