These skills encompass a broad range of capabilities, from basic operations like typing and internet browsing to more advanced functions such as database management, cybersecurity, and using media-rich tools to create content.
Components of ICT Skills
Hardware and Software Proficiency: Understanding how to use and troubleshoot physical devices (hardware) like computers and mobile phones, as well as operating systems and software applications (software) such as word processors, spreadsheets, and email clients.
Information Management: The ability to efficiently search for, evaluate the reliability of, and organize information from various digital sources.
Communication & Collaboration: Using tools to communicate and collaborate with others, whether through email, online platforms, or video conferencing, often across geographical distances.
Digital Content Creation: Creating, managing, and presenting information using a variety of media, including text, graphics, audio, and video.
Cybersecurity Awareness: Understanding basic security principles to protect personal and organizational data in the digital environment.

Students will practice using both software on computers and online resources. By the end of the course, they will be prepared to take continuous assessment tests (CATs & Quizzes) to earn the marks and will be prepared for any internationally recognized Digital Literacy Certificate where possible, which supports Rwanda’s digital talent policy.
